CARE & Advice
IMPORTANT CARE AND USE TIPS FOR FLEXIBLE MAGNETIC SHEETS
When preparing to apply our flexible magnetic sheets onto any metal surface, be sure that it is dry and clean. Car signs and metal surfaces that are outdoor should be waxed and wax cured, following manufacturing instructions. DO NOT apply our flexible magnetic sheets on surfaces that are wet, freshly painted or brand new surfaces for a period of at least 90 days, damages could be caused if these steps are not taken. Removing magnetic media, cleaning and waxing it daily will provide users the best results.
APPLICATION
Our flexible magnetic sheets are best applied on a smooth flat surface. Magnet placed it the wrong position should be carefully removed by peeling AWAY, then realigned. Dragging or tugging at the magnet to realign the sheet might stretch or damage the flexible magnetic sheet because of the resistance (strong magnetic strength). When applying the flexible magnetic sheet against surfaces, make sure there are no air pockets between both magnetic sheets and metal surface. Before applying our flexible magnetic sheet on painted surfaces, test the magnetic sheet on a testing surface with the same paint or ink for compatibility. Flexible magnetic sheets should avoid being applied on horizontal surfaces that are exposed to direct sunlight (especially in Australia) e.g. vehicle hood or top), or any other kind of surface that would reach a temperature of over (65°C). Users must be aware that uneven fading of paint will occur over time on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight after a long period of time.
DAILY CARE & STORAGE
As dust and water particles can accumulate in some of the tiniest gaps, we advise that surfaces between the flexible magnetic sheet and metal are to be cleaned daily(especially on car signs) Clean both flexible magnetic sheet and metal surface with semi-mild detergent and allow both to dry thoroughly before reapplying it. For car signs, we advise that daily cleaning is required, as dirt and grit will build up after driving, the cleaning process is the same as of above with an extra bit of waxing on the vehicle surface. It is important that wax is applied to prevent damage on painted surfaces. If your vehicle has been repainted before, we suggest you avoid applying flexible magnetic sheet as it might damage the repainted surface.
Storing magnet can be done two ways, in rolls, or cut up into sheets and stacked. If magnetic sheets are going to be stacked, make sure that each sheet is separated by silicon paper, wax paper or cardboard. When storing it in rolls, make sure the laminated or printed side is facing out when rolling it up, this avoids crinkles and wrinkles on the printed surface.
LIABILITY AND WARRANTY INFORMATION – MUST READ
Users applying our flexible magnetic sheets to any painted surface without reading of following our Care Tips may result in damaging the surface of application. Here at Umagnetics we are more than happy to help and provide guidelines on how to get the best results from our products. In order to prevent such problems, we hope users follow our guide, misinterpreting or failure to read through our guideline may result in damage of magnetic material or surfaces where magnetic material is applied.
